Location:
Durga Mitta, Nellore City, Sri Potti Sreeramulu Nellore District
History: (Sthalapurana)
The worshippers of Sri Rajarajeshwari and the pontiff, Sri Arul Jyoti Natarajamurthy Swami, resolved to establish an ashram at this location. With the blessings of Sri Swami and the divine vision of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Mahaswami, the foundation for the temple was laid on a propitious day in 1968, with the holy consecration and installation of the temple's deity performed by the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham's pontiff.
On March 6, 1975, during the auspicious occasion of the Phalguna month, under the guidance of Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swami and Sri Vidyananda Narasimha Bharati Swami, rituals were performed by priests and scholars, leading to the installation of the idol of Sri Rajarajeshwari and a grand Kumbhabhishekam. Since that day, the Goddess has been worshipped daily, radiating grace and prosperity to her devotees.
The temple was constructed on land donated by the then Collector of Nellore, Sri Shankaram. The foundation stone was laid in 1968 by the divine hands of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swami. The Kumbhabhishekam on March 6, 1975, was conducted by Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swami of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and the head of the Sringeri Peetham. The temple's construction was funded by donations from devotees and the late Ratnaswamy Modiliyars.
This temple has completed 48 years and is stepping into its 49th year. Within the temple complex, there are sub-temples dedicated to Sri Gayatri, Sri Sundareswara, and a Navagraha Mandapam.
Every year, the Dasara and Sharannavaratri Brahmotsavams are celebrated grandly during the Ashwayuja month. Devotees also perform special Rahu Kalapujas with great devotion every Friday.
