History
Sri Vedagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy stands majestically at a height of 350 feet amidst towering hills. This sacred site is recognized for its purity, and ancient sages considered it a Tirtha Kshetra (holy pilgrimage site).
During the yagnas performed in honor of the Saptarishis, it is mentioned in the Brahmanda Purana that during the yagna, Sri Swami granted a vision of his divine form to Sage Kashyapa in the evening twilight on the 14th day of Vaishakha, under the Swati Nakshatra.
In the place where the Saptarishis performed the yagna, seven sacred ponds known as Koneru still exist today. At the start of the yagna, the deity Sri Govindaraja Swamy, representing Sri Mannarayana, was installed and is now situated by these sacred ponds.
"Fifteen hundred years ago, built by the Pallava kings, this site became renowned as a centre for all Narasimha temples, known for its vibrant life and culture."
